Calls for reintroduction of the Trade Credit Reinsurance Scheme as contractor insurance on brink of crisis

The high number of recent insolvencies in the construction industry has caused major insurance issues and disruption as subcontractors are told to turn down work. In addition to this some insurers have reportedly pulled out of the industry completely, this is likely because of the ongoing fear of high failure rates.

After this news The Construction Leadership Council has announced that it is working with the Builders Merchants Federation to gather information on the current market position of TCI provision and the experience of organisations throughout the construction supply chain.
