Based in Lincoln, I try to get into the Lincoln office when possible to catch up with the Support and Development teams though being a consultant, most of my time is spent out on the road. As for many, my day starts with a check of the emails on my Blackberry in whichever part of the country I’m required that day. I have met lots of customers during my time with Integrity and also have a lot of interaction with internal staff, so emails can literally be from anyone, about anything!
My day really can vary depending on what’s required. I could be turning up for a traditional training day, carrying out classroom style training to multiple users as part of an implementation or demonstrating new functionality to new or existing clients. Either way at this time of the day I’m generally face to face with customers and waiting for a cup of tea or coffee of whatever quality I can get my hands on.
You may have met me, or more likely heard my voice, on one of our LIVE@ Webinars which I often present. I find that webinars are a great way of providing small pieces of information to large groups of customers in a very visual way. If you haven’t been on a live webinar I recommend you try one in the future. They’re really easy and are a great way to brush up on old skills within the system or learn about new legislation for example.
Lunchtimes can also vary in my role, much like Kerrie I can either be out on the road visiting one of the many service stations around the country (I know them all sadly!) or onsite with a customer, which can either be in the form of a quick sandwich or a walk down to the local shop - whatever time and geography permits.
Being a Professional Services Consultant for both Evolution and Evolution M, I naturally have lots of interaction with other departments within Integrity which is great. For example as well as talking to other consultants, I’m regularly in touch with our Support, Development and Sales teams, plus Marketing is often asking me to record webinars or help out as well.
My day job can literally take me from Scotland one day to Exeter the next, but in my spare time I enjoy running and spending time with my family. I was at the big cup final at Wembley recently with my son – Chesterfield vs Peterborough in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final of course – which we (Peterborough) won. This is just one of the many teams my son supports and has a shirt for, and it’s my job to keep him up to date on how they’re all doing!
