Evolution M from Integrity Software was selected by Lee Warren to provide a fully integrated accounting system with robust job costing functionality which was specialised for the construction industry. 

About 

Lee Warren was founded in 1979 by two partners who had a combined industry experience of 30 years. Over the last 26 years Lee Warren has grown to employ in excess of 120 staff, with a turnover in excess of £15 million.

Lee Warren continues to invest in its plant and equipment to ensure it has the latest technology to remain as market leaders in architectural metalwork.

Challenge

Following a review, the directors of Lee Warren identified a number of weaknesses surrounding the level of analysis and control being provided by their existing Sage financial solution.

Paul Oram, Financial Controller at Lee Warren commented, "Our objective was to find a suitable replacement for our Sage system which provided the level of detailed job costing analysis required by the management team."

He added "It was also crucial that the new system facilitates the management of sub-contractors in line with all government legislation."

The company therefore began researching the market to identify suitable systems which enabled the business to:

  • Accurately forecast cash flow for the business
  • Drilldown into the costing detail of any job
  • Improve the management of working with sub-contractors
  • Provide detailed summary reports to the management team

Solution

After evaluating the market, including an alternative Sage package, Lee Warren selected Evolution M from Integrity Software as the most suitable financial solution for their requirements.

Evolution M contains a fully integrated contract management module which will enable Lee Warren to allocate budgets against projects and as a result, report on the actual cash position of a job at any point in time.

The operational structure of Evolution M will also provide a third dimensional view of costs which will allow users to view costs broken down by individual activities.

In addition to handling all sub-contractor requirements, the system also allows Lee Warren to manage their CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) process within the system, thus providing greater visibility of work in progress for the management team.

To help consolidate information further, Evolution M provides a built in document management module which allows Lee Warren to quickly call up all documentation relating to a job including invoices, purchase orders and drawings.
